Challange

Celebrating the iconic Montblanc Meisterstück fountain pen’s 100th anniversary on the e-commerce platform, while working within the constraints of existing design components.

Approach

I embraced Montblanc’s rich, minimalistic black-and-white aesthetic to create a visually timeless experience. The design takes customers on a journey through the pen’s century-long history, while spotlighting the Origins Collection.

Storytelling

To narrate the Meisterstück’s evolution, I introduced a new timeline module. This interactive feature allows users to explore the pen's history over the past 100 years, adding depth and context to the brand’s story.

UI art 

I infused the UI with a touch of craftsmanship—rounded hover states mimic the strokes of a fountain pen, and interactive ink effects unfold as users scroll. These details create a memorable, immersive experience that honors Montblanc’s century of excellence.

The ink effect

To honor this milestone, a graphic interactive element has been introduced, allowing users to experience this ink-dissolving effect as they scroll, elegantly simulating the mesmerizing dispersion of Montblanc ink in water, bringing the century-old tradition to life in a dynamic and immersive way.

Being part of this project has been a true honor and a career highlight. Contributing to Montblanc’s celebration of the Meisterstück’s 100-year milestone from a design perspective was an incredible experience.
